Air Compressor Service & Repair

Factory-certified technicians serving Central and Southwest Virginia and Southern West Virginia

Buying the Equipment Is the Beginning, Not the End

A compressor purchase is a fifteen-year relationship. The machine will run tens of thousands of hours, and how it is maintained over that span determines far more about your total cost than the price on the original quote.
Atlantic Compressors services air compressors, vacuum pumps, process chillers, refrigeration systems, and compressed air treatment equipment across Virginia and Southern West Virginia. Our technicians are factory trained and hold current CAGI certification through the Compressed Air & Gas Institute. We service equipment we sold and equipment we did not.

We Diagnose Before We Replace

The most expensive service call is the one that fixes the wrong thing.

When a compressed air system develops problems, the instinct is to suspect the compressor. Often the compressor is fine. Low pressure at the point of use is just as likely to come from undersized piping, a failing dryer, insufficient storage, or leaks that have accumulated quietly for years. Replacing a healthy compressor solves none of that, and the plant ends up with a new machine and the original complaint.

Our technicians are trained to read the system, not just the machine in front of them. That means checking pressure at the point of use rather than at the compressor, evaluating storage and demand together, and identifying whether the fault is generation, treatment, distribution, or control.
Bill Rimer, President of Atlantic Compressors, is a Department of Energy Qualified AirMaster+ Specialist and a CAGI Certified Specialist — one of a small number of professionals holding both credentials in Southwest Virginia. Better credentials mean better diagnosis, better optimization, and better return on your maintenance investment.

We Service All Makes and Models

Our technicians work on every major compressed air equipment manufacturer — rotary screw and reciprocating, oil-free and oil-lubricated, single machines and multi-compressor plant rooms. You do not need to have bought the equipment from us, and you do not need to replace a working machine to get competent service on it.
We stock OEM and aftermarket replacement parts, and we carry synthetic compressor fluids matched to your equipment and duty cycle.

Our Service Programs

Preventive Maintenance Programs

Scheduled maintenance is the difference between planned downtime and unplanned downtime. Our preventive maintenance agreements cover fluid and filter changes, separator service, belt and coupling inspection, drain verification, and full system checks at intervals matched to your runtime and operating environment.

Every PM visit produces a written report documenting what was performed, what was found, and what we recommend — with quotes attached, so nothing gets discovered at the worst possible moment.

24/7 Emergency Repair

When compressed air stops, production stops. We answer emergency calls around the clock, every day of the year, for all makes and models across our service area.
Our service vehicles carry common wear parts and diagnostic equipment so that the majority of failures can be resolved on the first visit rather than after a parts order.

Compressed Air System Audits

An audit measures what your system is actually doing — flow, pressure, power draw, duty cycle, leak load, and how much air is consumed by demand that serves no productive purpose.

Compressed air is among the most expensive utilities in a plant, and most facilities are surprised by how much of it never reaches a useful application. An audit replaces assumptions with data before you spend money on equipment.

Engineering Assistance

When you are designing a new compressed air system or expanding an existing one, the specification decisions made early determine efficiency for the life of the installation.

We provide system design, equipment specification, air quality planning, and layout support for new construction, plant expansions, and process changes.

Installation and Piping

Correct installation determines whether equipment performs the way its data sheet promises. We provide turnkey installation, aluminum piping systems, and complete system layout — sized for the flow your plant actually requires, with minimal pressure drop.

Equipment Rentals

Short- and long-term rental compressors and vacuum pumps keep production running during scheduled maintenance, equipment failures, seasonal peaks, and temporary projects.

Oil Sampling and Fluid Analysis

Compressor fluid carries evidence of what is happening inside the airend. Routine oil sampling identifies wear metals, contamination, and fluid degradation before they become mechanical failures — the same predictive approach used on critical rotating equipment throughout industry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you service compressors you did not sell?
Yes. Our technicians are factory trained across all major manufacturers and service every make and model, regardless of where the equipment was purchased.
We provide 24/7 emergency service throughout our service area, and our vehicles carry common wear parts so most failures are resolved on the first visit.
Service intervals depend on runtime hours, operating environment, and equipment type rather than the calendar. A compressor in a dusty, high-temperature space needs attention far sooner than one in a clean, climate-controlled room. We set intervals based on your actual conditions.

Fluid and filter changes, separator service, belt and coupling inspection, drain verification, and a full system check — followed by a written report of findings and recommendations.

Often, yes. Leak load and artificial demand waste air at any scale, and small facilities frequently have less redundancy when something fails.
Yes. We service vacuum pumps, regenerative blowers, process chillers, refrigeration systems, and air treatment equipment in addition to air compressors.
